RFQ issued for Kamloops hospital project

A Request for Qualifications (RFQ) has been issued for the Royal Inland Hospital Clinical Services building project in Kamloops, B.C.

The new facility will contain space for outpatient services, including cardiopulmonary diagnostics and neurodiagnostics, community respiratory therapy, IV therapy, vascular improvement and medical outpatient services, and a bridge link to the existing hospital. A lecture theatre, teaching space for the University of British Columbia medical school program, 6,458 square feet of retail and commercial space or future outpatient services, and a 350-stall parking garage will also be built.

The RFQ submission deadline is 2:00 p.m. PST on June 25.

Upon receipt of submissions, the Interior Health Authority will identify a shortlist of up to three teams that will be invited to participate in the next stage of the competitive selection process.

Construction is expected to begin in spring 2014, with completion scheduled for spring 2016.
