Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc. has invested $90 million to renovate and redesign the landmark Sheraton Centre Toronto. The money will mainly be used to refurbish all 1,371 of the hotel’s guest rooms and suites.

“As one of Toronto’s most prominent landmark hotels it is essential for us to provide the best accommodations and experience possible for visitors to the city,” says David Connor, Starwood Hotels & Resorts’ area managing director. “The extensive renovation to our guest rooms and suites will bring a revived energy to our hotel.”

Aside from renovating the guest rooms, Starwood will also increase the total room count to 1,373. Additional features include:

  • 50-inch flat panel televisions for all guest rooms and suites
  • Beds that meet AAA’s Five Diamond Award criteria
  • Renovated bathrooms complete with low-flow toilets
  • An energy-efficient, Variable Refrigerant Flow HVAC system

The renovation starts in early November and is slated for completion in 2015.
