In a recent issue of FRPO Facts, the Federation of Rental-Housing Providers of Ontario provides a summary of landlord rights and responsibilities pertaining to election signs on their rental properties.

Ivanhoé Cambridge has partnered with multi-family company Greystar Real Estate Partners to develop a new mixed-use project in San Francisco, Calif. The development, which entered construction in late January, will include 87 apartment homes and 5,000 square feet of retail space. It is located at 2198 Market St.

Canadian residential landlord Killam Properties Inc. (Killam) has fully acquired or acquired interest in three multifamily rental properties in Ontario and one in Alberta. The $97.1-million in acquisitions, which were originally announced on Nov. 10, include apartment communities in London, Ottawa, Mississauga and Calgary.

The Preserve, a 791-unit garden-style apartment in Reisterstown, Md., has been acquired by Morgan Properties and The Olayan Group, its joint venture partner. This purchase marks the second acquisition made by the partners this year, representing a total investment of nearly $400-million.

The 2014 Property Management Association's Apartment Community Excellence (PACE) Awards, recognizing excellence in multi-family residential management, saw Equity Management communities win several honours, including Best Affordable Community and Best Affordable Senior Community. The property management firm, which specializes in affordable housing, won awards for five rental communities in Washington, Maryland and Virginia.
