The new Harry Jerome Community Recreation Centre has officially opened. It is the largest community recreation facility on the North Shore.

The new facility, located in central-north Edmonton, will serve as a major community and recreational hub.

Construction will commence after a combined investment of $63.9 million from the federal and territorial governments.

Features of the new facility will include two NHL-sized accessible rinks.

The enhancements will also include charging stations and access to public Wi-Fi at 126 recreation centres. 

The Vivo for Healthier Generations facility, located in the northwest community of Country Hills in Calgary, is reimagining health and wellness.

After completing a $12.5 million upgrade, Calgary’s Rose Kohn and Jimmie Condon arenas have reopened.

The City of Coquitlam and the YMCA of Greater Vancouver have signed an Agreement in Principle to develop a new 50,000-60,000-square-foot community recreation facility in the Burquitlam community of Coquitlam, B.C. A site for the new facility has not yet been selected, though city officials are eyeing the location of the future Burquitlam Evergreen Line rapid transit station.

A 107,639-square-foot expansion has been added to the John H. Price Sports and Recreation Centre at Bishop’s University in Sherbrooke, Que. The addition, which includes renovations of existing facilities, was funded by the governments of Canada and Quebec as well as the City of Sherbrooke. The project represents a total investment of $32-million.
