The new Canadian Board for Harmonized Construction Codes (CBHCC) is now responsible for the development of Canada's National Model Codes.

A new collaborative framework is aimed at achieving faster and frictionless Canada-wide adoption of the most current standards for new construction, fire safety, plumbing and energy efficiency.

Feedback on proposed changes to the 2020 editions of Canada's National Model Code begins from October 24 to December 23, 2022.

The 2020 National Model Codes have been released including building, fire and energy. The 2020 codes include nearly 400 changes.
