Toronto design firm picks up international award

Flora Di Menna Designs, a Toronto-based interior design firm, has been awarded the Best International Interior Design Private Residence category at the 22nd annual International Property Awards, which took place in London, England.

Flora Di Menna went up against other designers, architects and developers from around the world to win the title, which was based upon the design showcased at 65 Westwood Lane in Toronto, Ont.

“Winning this award has been a lifetime in the making,” said Flora Di Menna, president and principal designer of Flora Di Menna Designs, in a press release. “It just reinforces all the hard work and the uncompromising standard of excellence that we bring to every project we take on.”

The International Property Awards were held at the London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square. Over 2,000 companies from 100 countries submitted projects to be considered which in total were worth an estimated of $30 billion. A panel of over 70 experts judged submissions for aspects including sustainability and eco-friendliness before determining winners.

Flora Di Menna Designs, established in 1987, also recently won three awards in the Americas division of the International Property Awards this fall for the General Electric Global Headquarters (Best Office Interior), Eagles Nest Golf Club (Best Leisure Interior) and 65 Westwood Lane (Best Private Residence Interior).

“There are thousands of amazing designers out there, but this just proves that what’s happening in Canada can’t be ignored,” said Di Menna. “It’s an absolute honour to represent my country on the international stage and we couldn’t be more proud to receive this recognition.”
