Groupe HD and Fondaction have formed a partnership to acquire more than 210,000-square feet of land for a major housing development in the heart of the Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve district of Montreal.
A $425-million investment will create 1,200 residential units at a site that stretched from Sherbrooke Street to Chauveau Street. The project will include more than 15 per cent affordable units – approximately 180 homes – and aim for LEED Gold environmental certification.
NEUF Architectes will oversee the design with landscaping by BC2. The project is based on guidelines of the City of Montreal’s Assomption Nord Special Urban Planning Program (PPU), so the design will focus on inclusive residential diversity, quality green spaces, and harmonious densification.
Construction Praxis, the construction division of Groupe HD, will carry out two phases ahead of completion.
