Completion of the 15-megawatt Scalelogix data centre gives development partners, Cologix and CIM Group, a new hyperscale facility in the Toronto market. The 50,000-square-foot centre is located on a 3.4-acre campus in Markham and boasts interconnections to 700 networks, 350 cloud providers, 30 public cloud onramps and six internet exchanges.

“Strong demand from major global cloud providers and prominent digital enterprises continues to drive us to actively enhance our Scalelogix portfolio throughout North America,” says Chris Heinrich, Chief Revenue Officer with Cologix.

The new Toronto facility has been largely pre-leased. It promises flexible design options, multiple physically separate rooms, various fibre entrance vaults to the campus, dark fibre connectivity, top calibre security, fire protection and energy efficiency. Cologix currently operates data centres in 11 North American markets, including Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver, while partner CIM Group develops, owns and operates community-focused real estate and infrastructure projects.

“CIM Group believes that data centres are critical infrastructure assets,” reports the company’s co-founder and principal, Avi Shemesh. “Further, our investment strategy prioritizes data centres that are designed and operated in a manner that reflects the best practices in sustainability and environmentally sensitive processes.”
