Individuals and businesses need a licence to provide condo management services in Ontario. The Condominium Management Regulatory Authority of Ontario (CMRAO) is the licensing authority that regulates Ontario’s rapidly growing condominium market.
The CMRAO began operations in November 2017 to protect condo owners/residents and support high standards in condominium management. Regulation by the CMRAO means condo management professionals are licensed, meet education and experience requirements, and comply with a code of ethics.
Handling complaints is an important part of public protection and promoting ethical and competent condo management services. The CMRAO also maintains an online public registry on its website, making it possible to search for individuals and companies that are licensed in Ontario.
