Businesses and organizations across Prince Edward Island can access funding to make their commercial and non-profit spaces more accessible and inclusive for employees and clients with disabilities.
The provincial government’s Workforce Adaptation Fund is coordinated through local non-profit ResourceAbilities. Organizations can access up to a maximum of $50,000 annually to cover 80 per cent of eligible expenses.
Consultations were completed between the province, ResourceAbilities and the AccessAbility Advisory Council to inform the development of the fund.
“At ResourceAbilities, we see every day how accessibility opens doors to opportunity,” said executive director, Devon Broome. “This fund will help businesses and community organizations remove barriers, foster inclusion, and build welcoming workplaces for Islanders of all abilities.”
