Urban Land Institute (ULI) Toronto has appointed Richard Joy as the first fulltime executive director of its Toronto District Council. In addition, the organization has announced that Rob Spainer will lead its advisory board, taking over from Mark Noskiewicz.
“Mr. Joy’s unique set of experience and skills will help to advance ULI’s mission to provide leadership in the responsible use of land and in creating and sustaining thriving communities” says Noskiewicz, chair of ULI Toronto.
Joy, a public policy professional, has more than 20 years of urban leadership experience in the private sector, along with the provincial and municipal governments.
“The next several years are a critical watershed moment in the growth of the Toronto Region,” says Joy. “We must better capitalize on our common vision of a network of livable neighbourhoods and communities and continue to advance the implementation of responsible infrastructure investment through positive leadership and collaboration between public policy makers, industry and our local communities.”
