Starlight to acquire Texas apartment complex

Starlight U.S. Multi-Family Core Fund, a fund governed under the Limited Partnerships Act of Ontario, has entered into an agreement to acquire a 312-unit apartment complex in Houston, Texas. The community, known as Yorktown Crossing, is located at 15903 Yorktown Crossing Parkway and was completed in 2010.

The property consists of 13, three-storey buildings with one and two-bedroom units. Each unit features crown-molding, black appliances, brushed nickel fixtures, full size washer and dryer sets and track and pendant lighting. Community amenities include a 24-hour fitness centre, media room, executive business centre, resort-style pool, fireplace, barbecue grilling area and putting green. Residents also have access to Wi-Fi high speed internet in common areas.

The apartment complex will be purchased for approximately $35.2 million U.S. Following the acquisition, the Starlight U.S. Multi-Family Core Fund expects to have interest in 1,203 recently constructed multi-family units in Austin and Houston, Texas.
