Victoria Towers, a 91-unit affordable rental housing development, officially opened on September 19 in Prince George, B.C. The Government of B.C. provided $2.3 million in construction financing for the project as well as $11 million to purchase and renovate the original building. The federal and provincial governments invested $1.5 million for the development, through the Canada-B.C. agreement for Investment in Affordable Housing (IAH).

The units are geared towards low to moderate income individuals, seniors, families and persons with disabilities.

“Our Government is dedicated to helping those in need, which is why we are proud to have invested in this project in Prince George,” says Richard Harris, Member of Parliament for Cariboo-Prince George. “These new 91 units are more than just safe and affordable places to live, they are the key to a better life for the residents that will call them home.”

The 12-storey building, located at 1245 20th Ave., is the largest affordable housing development in Prince George.
