Thursday, June 12, 2014

Earlier this month, the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP) handed out awards to its property managers and tenants at the annual Leadership in Environmental Advancement Program (LEAP) awards.

The LEAP awards, which are part of the HOOPP real estate group’s sustainability program, recognize energy performance and sustainability efforts.

Nine awards were given out in three categories: performance, collaboration and innovation. Triovest and Menkes led the way with three awards each, while Eastport Properties received two honours.

Jim Keohane, HOOPP’s president and CEO, said real estate is “an important asset class” for the pension plan, noting that HOOPP has more than $8 billion in assets and approximately 180 properties located across Canada and internationally.
