Cineplex has opened its new VIP Cinemas Don Mills, Canada’s first multiplex theatre exclusive to adults. The property, located in Toronto’s Shops at Don Mills complex, features five auditoriums totaling 500 seats.

“We look forward to bringing Canada’s most in-demand movie-going experience to Toronto,” says Ellis Jacob, president and CEO of Cineplex Entertainment. “Our VIP Cinemas have been overwhelmingly popular wherever they’ve opened in Canada, and we expect our Don Mills location will be no exception.”

While the company already operates 10 other VIP theatres across Canada, its Don Mills location is the first to cater exclusively to an audience over the age of 18, with auditoriums and lounges licensed for alcohol sales (beer, wine and liquor). Other VIP services will include reserved seating, in-seat service and a specialty menu featuring appetizers and entrees.

Cineplex will open two more VIP cinemas within the next year or so – both located in the Greater Toronto Area: Cineplex Cinemas Downtown Markham and Cineplex Cinemas Yonge-Eglinton and VIP (currently known as SilverCity Yonge-Eglinton Cinemas).
