Canadians recognized at ASHRAE awards

Canadians rank among the 89 international recipients of the 2014 ASHRAE awards, presented earlier this month in Seattle. Notably, Edward I. Mackie of Coquitlam, B.C. was one of eight honourees to be recognized as a distiguished 50-year member.

Michel Bernier, a professor at Polytechnique Montreal, shared a Technical Paper Award with fellow Quebec-based researcher Eslami Nejad for their “preliminary assessment on the use of phase change materials around geothermal boreholes.”

Saskatchewan-based Jared Larson received the Student Activities Achievement Award, which recognizes the efforts of a chapter student activities chair.

Jean Bundock, a project engineer with Quebec City’s Roche Ltd., received one of 30 Distinguished Service Awards. The honour recognizes members who have donated their time to ASHRAE.
